Started shopping here very recently. Their small animal section has a good variety and is probably the best in the area. Prices are very fair too. It is also nice to see a pet shop encourage proper small animal care with their enclosure examples.

My Daughter brought a Bearded Dragon 12th August, fine for about a week but became vicious so they swapped it. We had another one on 31st August, was fine for a few days but wouldn't eat nothing. Prestwood had this Dragon back 10th September to keep an eye on it. Went into the shop to be told had some food but not as much as they wanted it too. To have a phone call Sunday 14th September for them to say it had Died. There refusing to give us any sort of a refund or another Bearded Dragon. One member of staff told my partner it was only 3-4 weeks old. Does anyone know if you can sell them that young..

Love this place. We popped in to visit the aquarium staff for some advice. . The store is pretty accessible (I'm in a wheelchair) and the tanks are at a lower height, so it's a place to visit if you have accessibility needs. The staff took time to listen to our questions and give great advice. We left with a new tank mate for our established tank with only one fish. The advice was great and a week on all is fine and well in our tank. My only gripe is that the outside ponds with the pond fish in isn't accessible enough. The immediate area around the tanks has a solid footpath, but the area where you need to get close enough to the tank to see the fish in a gravel and you just can't get close enough in a wheelchair. I got stuck in the gravel, but a kind member of staff helped me back to solid ground.

Good experience while buying. Brought a conure bird and set up. 400 for the bird and around 300 for cagec and set up. Was told bird life span was between 15 and 20 years. However, after 7 months sadly the bird has died. I did everything as advised. Staff were understanding and saddened to hear but said nothing thet can do. 700 pounds is a lot to spend with no real "oh we're sorry could we offer you ..."

Bought 2x different cold water fish recently, followed the advice given by staff and had spoken with them regarding tank conditions prior to purchase. The lad stressed the one fish out massively trying to get it in the net and when I brought them home, kids had named them and introduced them into the tank, less than 2x days following the stressed fish died… The staff refused to replace or refund for the fish. Demanded a sample of the water which was provided and dubbed it down to the conditions of the water…funny that cause the other new fish and the others already in there are absolutely fine and happy. Been going here years for all manner of pets for myself and family, proper gone down hill and expensive, avoid.

Fantastic service from the beginning, very knowledgeable staff who offered support and advice regarding setup and care, what was really nice is that they seem to genuinely care about where their animals are going. We have a lovely new member of the family and couldn’t be happier with how it all went, in a very short time our Conure has settled in perfectly to our home. Thanks so much for all your help and support.

Prestwood is a very well kept and maintained pet shop. All of the fish tanks are clean and the fish look healthy. The reptiles and inverts all look healthy and are all in well kept and maintained set ups. The staff are knowledgeable and they have a huge selection of exotic animals available and sell what you need to keep them.

Fighter fish kept in horrific conditions look extremely ill some dead ! Most other animals seem in good condition except one lizard which had a dry water bowl and looked poorly.

Popped in to donate some giant African snails babies that my snail had had while we were away. They were more than happy to have them and were very polite although obviously very busy. The shop is much bigger than you realise. A large outdoor section full of ponds and fish. There's a large aquatic section inside with some very rare species like axolotl and things like that. A good reptile section with beardies, snakes, scorpions and tortoise's. There's birds and tons of foods, beds, cages, tanks and all the bits that go inside. There's also a sweet shop next door and a hot snacks bar outside. Great place.
